MacPractice EMR update simplifies patient billingPublished: 2008-11-29 14:13:36Author: MacNN, October 24, 2008MacPractice, which supplies Mac-based software for doctors, chiropractors and dentists, has updated its medical records software.
MacPractice EMR now allows doctors to record patient visits with procedure codes and
diagnoses, simplifying the billing process. The company says it has
also improved the process of creating and sharing narrative medical
reports.
The
ability to add procedure codes provides direct communication between
the treatment and billing areas of a medical practice, reducing the
need for additional paperwork and speeding the payment process.
Information collected during a patient visit can be quickly merged into
a doctor's narrative medical report. A built-in word processor allows a doctor to generate a cover letter and envelope to send the report to a referring physician.
The company says 300 of its 2300 customers using MacPractice have added
EMR functionality since it was introduced last December. Customers can
create their own medical forms templates, and share them with other
practices to reduce costs.
