COLUMBUS, Ga. -- A local doctor is lending a hand in Japan—literally.
Chiropractics isn’t the most obvious way to lend a hand in the wake of Japan’s devastation, but Dr. Jay Brodwyn is working with what he’s got to give.
“Everybody saw the tsunami, the earthquake and now the nuclear disaster, it's just incredible the devastation, so we thought it could just be a small way we could get the public involved,” Brodwyn said.
On March 30, the doctor is making a $50 donation on behalf of all new patients to UNICEF, a certified fundraiser. He’s also donating the co-pays of existing patients. For patients without insurance, Brodwyn will treat them to a free visit and still make a donation on their behalf.
It’s good for business, but he hopes other Columbus professionals will follow suit—to not only boost the local economy, but to help the Japanese tens of thousands of miles away.
The fundraising event will be held all day Wednesday, March 30, at 3624 Edgewood Road in Columbus. Those interested can call (706) 563-3370.
