ATLANTA - (Business Wire) ACOM Health announced today that RAPID Chiropractic Software is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as an EHR Module on November 18, 2010 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable Eligible Provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
“At ACOM Health, we strive to always be on the cutting edge and continue to provide the Chiropractic marketplace with the highest level of EHR functionality,” ACOM Health Vice President of Sales Sam Mikhail said. “Since announcement of the ARRA program we have focused on assuring that our RAPID Chiropractic Software would be one of the first Chiropractic EHR systems to be certified under the criteria of the ARRA and the Certification Commission. With certification now achieved, we believe that we delivered on this promise and we brought Chiropractors using our software one step closer to securing their share of the $44,000 stimulus dollars available per eligible provider.”
The RAPID EHR software is unique in the fact that it was designated from the ground up specifically for Chiropractors and according to Mikhail, it is believed to be the first Chiropractic specific software to be certified by the CCHIT. Further details on RAPID's 2011/2012 compliance criteria can be found at http://www.cchit.org/products/2011-2012/arrafinalruleeligibleprovider/2767
The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.
“CCHIT is pleased to be testing and certifying products so that companies are now able to offer these products to providers who wish to purchase and implement certified EHR technology and achieve meaningful use in time for the 2011-2012 incentives,” said Karen M. Bell, M.D., M.S.S., Chair, CCHIT.
RAPID's certification number is CC-1112-203300-1. ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nor does it guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
