ELIZABETHTOWN – Today’s scheduled trial of an Elizabethtown chiropractor on a sexual abuse charge was canceled after the case against him was dismissed.

Elizabethtown Police Department detective Clinton Turner formally charged chiropractor Adrian Nohr, 37, with one count of sexual abuse last March.

Nohr pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Hardin District Judge John Simcoe’s courtroom a day later and again in Hardin Circuit Court on May 18, 2009, after an indictment by a grand jury on the same charge moved the case to a higher court.

On Feb. 18, however, a prosecutor with Commonwealth’s Attorney Chris Shaw’s office moved to dismiss the case without prejudice.

Last week, Circuit Judge Kelly Mark Easton agreed to the commonwealth’s motion, formally dismissing the charge on a stipulation that, if evidence that Nohr committed a crime arises in the future, he could be prosecuted.

Nohr’s criminal trouble in Hardin County may be over, but he’s still wrestling two civil matters, including a pending foreclosure case that, according to court records, lists Nohr and a family member as defendants.

In a separate case, Hardin District Judge John Simcoe found Nohr guilty last week of failing to make good on a property lease with Hall’s Rental owner Larry Hall.

Simcoe ordered on Feb. 23 that Nohr vacate the premises of Crossroads Chiropractic and Wellness Center practice at 1701 N. Dixie Ave. in Elizabethtown within 45 days.

The 45-day allowance hinges on an immediate $10,000 payment to Hall for money owed on the lease agreement.
