If you are in the 80 percent of the population that has symptoms like back or neck ache, tingling in your fingers, indigestion, pain, numbness, weakness, fatigue or difficulty with tasks, you may want to consider visiting a chiropractor.
“A chiropractor treats vertebral subluxation complex, which is a fancy word for one of the most common ailments known to mankind,” said Dr. Jason Specht of Jason Specht Chiropractic. “It alters the way your nervous system works, and the cure is a chiropractic adjustment.”
You should not wait until you are in pain to make an action plan. There is a lot you can do to prevent back troubles.
“Walking forward and walking backward is brilliant for your back,” Specht said.
Do not overlook something simple like standing and sitting up straight.
Dr. Jake Morgan of Advanced Chiropractic and Spinal Rehab said, “With poor posture, you tend to lose the proper curvature in your spine to distort the alignment of bones, which causes chronically tense muscles and can contribute to anything from less lung capacity to increased fatigue to nerve entrapments.”
Dr. Jacqueline Weaver, of Peak Performance and Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, said, “The better health you keep your body in and the more balanced and well-maintained it is, the less likely you are to have injury to your lower back.”
Sometimes back pain can be the outcome of a problem with some other part of the body.
“If you have a foot problem, you will be walking and changing your
normal gate which throws the muscles and posture out of balance,” said
Dr. Robert Stricko of Applied Chiropractic. “When they are thrown out
of synchronization, the muscles start fighting against each other which
can create an injury.”
